Introduction

1/ Could you introduce yourself ?

Whity : Since 1997, I’m in the underground music area, and after a career as a member of a crew “Le Kartel Omega”, I started my solo career after being involved in several artistic and collective projects. Being part of the foundation of several artistic projects as the 3 opus of “Touch2Style” produced between 2001 and 2003, gathering more than 140 artists; I had an amazing experience made of sharing and artistic encounters.
During the next years, I’ve produced with KaneyKing the album “Ten on Ten” (released in 2004), and notably the album “Poussières d’étoiles”(released in 2006), as well as a set of maxis called “Espeanto” from 2007 to 2009 (available on free downloading).
Spontaneous and lucid: I just talk about what I see, what I feel, and I bounce back on my reading of our world.
My inspirations are based on the heart: I’ve always been particularly sensitive to all the things that are disappearing inch by inch, about what is essential in my opinion, and that too much people seems to forget sadly such as Love, Respect, Hope, and Dreams.
My devise is: Determination, Patience and Sacrifices.

Delphine : I’m a versatile artist, i’ve started music from my 6 years old, having the luck of being the daughter of a showbusiness intermittent worker who initiated me very early to the artistic fields. Starting with the piano, that I’ve never left, and singing with a preference toward Gospel and lyrical singing. Afterwards, from my 8 years old,  I played a lot in theatre, and participated to the off festival of Avignon in 1991 when I was 10 years old.
Then, my next steps was dedicated to the dance during many years, beginning with rock, salsa, latino-american rythms, then traditional African dances, to end with Krump and Hip Hop.
Since I’ve found my way of drawing, and thanks to it, I’ve been able to meet Whity, collaborating on producing illustrations for his artistic project.
I’ve always consider my arts as a very personal and therapeutic activity: I’m a very anxious personality and all these art disciplines had helped me to overcome some difficult parts of my life, and still help me today to relax after a full work day. That’s why today, I ‘m happy to be able to give this opportunity to the children that are really needing it.

2/ When and how did you get the idea in your mind of creating an association ?

W : In fact, the idea was based on a first single named MDM that i’ve written and recorded during 2006 in UK. The song talked about a lot of injustices toward the childhood area.
I wanted to treat about these injustices by the help of combination of music, pictures, paintings, etc. Inch by inch, I launched a project, mixing colours, and different artistic styles: I was searching for the sensitivity of the artist toward these injustices.
This project permits me to open myself artistically and to get the luck of meeting a lot of different people. It took to me 3 years to succeed my objective and getting the potential to launch MDM as an artistic platform defending the rights of the children.
Building an association was the next logical step of my project. This idea came out in 2007 thanks to the meeting with someone that was working in the community life area.
I was connected to Delphine, an artist that I had invited to join to my project. From here, I kept in touch with here. That’s our same vision, determination, and feelings that led us to launch together the association on December 2008.

D : That’s from here, that i came in, i was already thinking about creating an association that would be dedicated to deal with underprivileged children living in the suburbs of Paris. After several and long discussions, the idea of launching together this project came to us naturally. He got the artistic platform, his creativity, and I got the administrative and commercial skills that are essentials for the association.

3/ What are the mission of the association ?

WD : Increasing people awareness toward childish injustices and proposing creative workgroups for these children !

W : Keep trying to open the eyes of people that kept they eyes too closed. The objective is to let the underprivileged children blossoming, having their freedom moments because everyone have the right to dream. Donating a little from oneself in order to make a better future.

D : Giving the opportunity to the children to express themselves, to evacuate the tensions that can’t be named my children. Art permits us to grab hold of to something, a kind of imaginary world where we feel good, to get the hindsights from all that things of the life and its vagaries that we don’t always understand.

4/ How to make it ?

W : By the help of organizing as much as possible artistic events and projects in order to create some workgroups for children.

D : The artistic platform gathers hundred of artists that are sensitive to our concept. Thanks to them, we are able to organize cultural events such as exhibitions, concerts, or launching audio CD whose profits would be totally transferred to the financing of workgroups in social centers.

5/ How are managed the funds of the association ?

W : The historic of our bank account will be transparent and available on our website: how was invested the funds, what are the expenditures, etc.
D : We make our best for being able to only work with voluntary artists in order to save up the investments. Surely, the administrative costs can’t be avoided, but they always represent a very minor part of the utilized budget. Money is spent for buying materials (such as painting colors, brushes, canvas, etc.) useful for the mechanism of their activities.

6/ What is next ?

WD : International acts ! Well… It’s already a challenge to cover a national activity, being active in the biggest cities, then spreading on the international plan as soon as MDM got the potential to act on other delicate areas.

7/ Do you want to say one more thing?

WD : "C'est EUX, c'est Nous, c'est DEMAIN..."
